How Job Titles affect One’s Work

A company’s organizational structure, especially a large company’s, is composed of many branches; each of these positions has their own titles distinct from others. For some people, these differences in titles may seem just like tradition; that is, a position is called by its name because it always has been. However, that is not the only reason titles differ form each other.

A good reason why job differ in title is because the company does not want to experience confusion in rank in the organizational chart. These job titles will help constitute who supervises whom. A job is best to have its own title because having a title different from others defines standing in the company, and thus, pride in one’s own work. In line with this, the employee having a title of his own could sow motivation in their jobs. This motivation, in many ways, is very profitable for the company as a whole. These job titles also exist because the tasks and the duties of all jobs need limitations; and these job titles will construct a wall that limits the works of an employee.

For many people, these job titles seem to be but a footnote in organizing a company, which is why: employees holding their titles should be made aware of the importance of the titles of their jobs.
